How do you change an article name at Wikipedia?

How do I make a Wikipedia article on somebody if the name is taken, even though it's a different person?

  • I want to make a Wikipedia article on a singer Kevin Hammond. There is already an article on a Kevin Hammond musician, but not the same one. How do I create mine?

  • Answer:

Make an article titled : "Kevin Hammond (singer)" (Note: you can do this because singer is not the same as musician.) :-)

Other answers

Once you've created the new page for the "(singer)", you'll probably want to add a disambiguation "hat" to the top of the other Kevin Hammond article (maybe even propose that his article be renamed, too), and then you'll also want to create a page for THIS Kevin Hammond: http://kevinhammond.com/ That one, you can probably title, "Kevin Hammond (poker playing BBQ genealogist)".

No. Yes. Possibly. Erroneous.
