Answer:
It's called being lazy As long as your teacher is not aware of wikipedia's existence, they will probably get away with it. If you want it to stop, then tell your teacher about wikipedia and to make sure he checks that someone;'s work is not a straight-up copy/paste.

Because, as someone has said, they are lazy but apart from that, very shortsighted because copying means they are not learning, it will not register in their brains and so they are just cheating themselves and their future careers will suffer as a result. The only way to get good marks for project work and learn and benefit yourself, is to do it yourself, do your own research but make sure all your work is original. They are not fooling their tutors/teachers.

That's cheating and cheaters never prosper. But, instead of blaming your friend, I should also blame myself for copying the most of the info for my projects from Wikipedia. Well, I admit it, I use that method too but not as frequently as your friend does. Cheating is not always wrong when you realize it. Sometimes, you just need to cheat. But I'm not talking about every time you got to do something you must cheat. What I want to point out is that you need to do your projects alone but, in case you cannot answer a question, find the requested information etc., cheating is there to help you xD (I'm just joking). Make up your mind and do what your heart tells you to do (as people say, but I recommend saying "what your brain..."). Cheers, Tech Support Geek.

Because your friends are lazy and can get away with it, sorry if this seems abrupt or forward but stop fussing about what they doa nd just keep focusing on your work. Don;t end up being one of those people who subtly potters about on a high horse because you'll end up with no real friends and a lot of resentment. People are naturally lazy and they hate being looked down on by people who are willing to work harder than they are. I promise you there are people who exert superfluous effort and use their extra 1 mark to look down on everyone else, including you. So just relax and get on with your coursework, if you keep worrying about what other people do, you'll just burn yourself out dude. No need to take on the whole world, they'll just resent you for it and to be completely honest, their work is not really any of your business unless it affects you directly.

they are lazy, you must not copy and copy in that site not in the way that i down that site but, some of my college friends, and their professor that wikipedia is not recommended to copy all, because there are some correction from site. I better recommend to open some and for additional info. from book.

It's too bad your teacher doesn't check Wikipedia since that is such a popular site. However, what your friends are doing is plagiarism, especially since many of the people who post to Wikipedia simply copied it from somewhere else. Just because they sometimes get ahead that way does not make it OK for you to do it. Most of the time, cheaters get caught at one time or another. Be the better person -- concentrate on your own work, make sure your work is original, and give credit to the sources you copy.

Well good for you. They are just being lazy, not to mention unethical. What you learn is more important than the grade you get in school.

Dont worry. Wikipedia is an open site. Meaning that anyone can go in and change what the website says. For example....... Dogs enjoy the company of humans.....some one trying to be funny comes along and says.....Dogs enjoy the company of aliens. So becarefull when copying. But wikipedia probably wouldnt be my first choice, it would be closer to my last.

wiki is easiest, usually the first website that pops up when you google information. but you can't trust it..in highschool/college and universities, you aren't allowed to use wiki because it always has false information on it. anyone can write what's on wiki, it's not all fact.

just wait till she uses one of the articles that some random person edited and is all wrong and gets a 0 and the teacher find out they cheat
