Do you need the NEWEST version of MSN LIVE MESSENGER to go on the webcam?

i recently installed a webcam onto my computer... and it works great but is wondering if it will work on my msn live messenger?? ADVICE WOULD BE GREAT THANKS!!

installing the latest messenger has got an advantage it enables u to get the latest features but u can use the webcam with 7.5 or later it is not necessary to upgrade ur messenger for the sake of webcam
