i dont think that there is a more technical explanation. an internet connection can only send so much. information gets scrambled over the WWW and that causes lots of lag. a good connection and a good computer doesnt ensure a good webcam stream, coz there are a lot of things that can hinder computers speed. it doesnt even have to be on your side; it could be the other users that are slowing your internet connections. --------------------------------------... If it's faulty software you can always download a new webcam driver, install it and see how it goes.
