Is there any way to see who is appearing to be offline on MSN?

Is there a way I can know if my friend is appearing offline on msn messenger ?

please i really need to know if my friend is appeaing offline or he's really offline.

when 'appearing offline' u can usually still talk to them. if they have blocked them u can't.. As i said if they are just appearing then its so you dont know they are online , i can still talk to pps when they are on that status... just click on them & c if the msg sends.. or email the person & ask if he is online x
