Can the police get msn chat logs?

I am just wondering if the cops can get and read my msn chat logs?

The police and the government have the right to view anyone's personal data if it will help them in their case, (I think that's stated in the Data Protection Act). So yes they could, if needed, view your MSN chat logs whether it's through your computer or through Microsoft.

Why would they want to?I'm sure they have much, much better things to do and more things to care about than msn chats. If you never saved them then it would be next to impossible to find them.Computer experts would be needed for sure.
