How do I display my real name instead of my mail id?

Why can't I choose my own MSN display name when I login on my personal e-mail address?

    You won't be able to change your name if your Windows Live ID has not been verified. In order to get verified, you need to click the verification link in the verification e-mail that is sent to you when you sign up. I think, though I'm not sure, that you have to have a hotmail account created on MSN in order to change your display name. I'm not 100% sure, but I think that may be it.
