Which Instant Messenger is better, Yahoo or MSN?

Which kind best of instant messenger (AIM or MSN IM or YAhoo Im)?

  MSN Messenger aka Windows Live Messenger is still number one in my books! 1) AIM: This, to me, was a huge let-down. For one you couldn't change your username from what you had originally registered (and this username is what's displayed in any/all conversations) which I found somewhat annoying. The appearance of the program is also very outdated and can be really complicated to figure out if you're new to instant messaging, with so many drop down menus and TINY tiny buttons, it can be a nightmare.And quite frankly I found the whole appearance kind of boring. I also found, and this was a big one, that you can only add people to your friends list who have an AOL account (unlike MSN where you can add yahoo/sympatico/gmail accounts). So there was really just no one to talk to! 3) Then we have Yahoo!. I can't complain too much about this one, they really did make a whole lot of improvements to it over the years. I LOVE the "environments" you can use (background in your conversation, games, etc) and I also like that you can create a free "Cartoon You" for your display picture if you want. I can't recall if you can change name or not, but again the biggest problem I ran into with this problem is menu/button confusion and a HUGE lack of contacts. You HAVE to have a Yahoo! Email Account to use this, which again was really really frustrating. So finally is Windows Live (MSN) Messenger. Now, this too is not without it's flaws. Every now and again it'll get a glitch, you get a link to a virus once in a blue moon in your convos, and sometimes the other Windows Live sites take forever to load. However, the messenger itself is very customizable, easy to figure out (with a great help and support system), clean design and doesn't limit you as far as who you can and can't talk to-- really giving it an edge over the other programs. It's a very user-friendly program that I'd highly reccomend to "newbies" over the others, icons pretty much mean exactly what the picture on them is (the smiley face is to put a smiley in your message, the thing with the letters lets you change the appearance of your letters...). Again, the program isn't perfect, but it's definitely a bonus if you're new to the game (or if you know a computer inside and out, with so many extra features you're bound to keep yourself busy!).
