    There was a power outage in Southern California, Yuma Arizona and Mexico today. Maybe that has something to do with it? It affected millions of people and the power has been down since this afternoon and is not expected to go back up until tomorrow.

The massive power outage probably effected the main server(s) for Hotmail, there for it went offline for awhile. Try checking now as it seems to be working again. Also to clear up some confusion, no it was not terrorist attacks nor anyone hacking them. It was a internal problem from a single workers error that domino effected to several other power plaints on the west coast.

same thing happens to me. when you type www.hotmail.com you are directed to an opt online page. when I type in www.msn.com it says internet explorer cannot open the page Any idea who took down hotmail and msn? So much for internet security.
