YouTube "Create Account" Makes Me Create A Google Account!?! I need this to stop!?

Okay, go through with creating some random google account (unless you actually plan on using it, then give it a good name). And don't do it on chrome, not sure why, but you don't have as many problems because not only are google and youtube linked now, but since chrome is google owned it is sort of linked with youtube. ANYWAY, once you have an account go on youtube, click on your name, and go to account settings, or maybe it's just settings. Then go to profile settings or manage account, it's one of them. One of them allows you to create a youtube username, so after that you just have an account with the gmail as the email. And you can add other emails to the google account as well, but the gmail account is the 'primary account' and I don't think there is any way to change that. I think this is all ridiculous too, I have complained to youtube and google many times. And I don't think there is a way to skip giving out the phone number, but I think you can trust google.

Same thing happening here I already have both accounts let me tell you google is the BOMB DIGGITY lol no spams it's all legit I love gmail they only ask for your number as proof your not a robot

Hello, I know this can be frustrating! But Youtube is part of google now so you when you make a new youtube account it makes a new google account as well! or you can just use an existing google account! hope this helps(:

You have to do this, sorry, but there should be an option to 'skip' the part with the cell phone number thing.
