this will help you... use 'zillatube'. it is the easiest (and also the fastest) way. Zillatube easily download videos from Youtube... to your computer, and more. I will tell you two ways you could do this, first the easiest way. Use the online FLV Converter at http://vixy.net/ and enter the URL of the youtube video of your choice. Then choose your preference of format you want to save it as (mp3 audio in your case). Finally press start and it will do the rest for you. The other way is only if you're using a mac. With the apple computer you'll use "audio hijack pro" and you'll be able to record just about anything on your computer which would including anything on the internet. Go to www.download.com and type in key word "youtube audio" without the quotations. They have many programs that do this. Be careful, cuz as you said it is a copyright violation and once the industry fully gets on to it, youtube will be like the next napster (for audio that is).

There is a way to record your computer's main mix (what it sends to your speakers) but I will only reccomend doing so if you have permission from the person who put the video on the web in the first place and only then if the video does not have copywrighted music behind it. Check out a free program called audacity (it will only work if you have a sound card). You can use it to record the main mix. Find it at: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
