What do you think of Google Chrome?
-
Is it a threat to Firefox, and will it blur the line between browser and operating system by encouraging developers to write software specifically for Chrome?
-
Answer:
It's still in beta form, so right now it's not much of a threat to Firefox or any other browser for that matter. Now once they work out all the bugs who knows, but for now I'm sticking with IE 6 and Firefox 3.

i am using it now. the look and feel is very lightweight & straightforward. the pages it render is basically almost the same with ff. good for browsing so far, but i'd still prefer ff in terms of functionality. i have read it still has some issues regarding some content/privacy.

I recently downloaded Google Chrome and got excited over nothing. Websites wouldn't load in it. It just gives me: This web page is not available. The web page at (www.any web page I enter) might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. When I click "more information on this error," it says: Error 104 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_FAILED): The attempt to connect to the server failed. I searched all over the internet and on the help site for Chrome. The only one that had the same problem as me hasn't got his answer yet (as of right now, at least). ( http://groups.google.com/group/google-ch... ) He said, however that other browsers were workin for him. I decided to try other browsers. I tried Opera and firefox. They both gave basically the same error as Chrome. Opera said "ERROR! Could not connect to remote server." Firefox said: "Failed to connect" I'm completely lost. Internet Explorer works just fine. btw: If this matters, lately some games that are store bought (by that I mean it's not one that I downloaded) haven't been able to connect to their servers (specifically Ensemble Studios Online)

I love it! Couldn't have come out at a better time - I was getting frustrated with the error messages from IE8, so out of desperation I downloaded Chrome and may never go back again. ;) As many people who love google now...Chrome is going to be the next thing. Bye bye IE.

Pros: Small, installs in seconds, pretty fast. Does everything I need it to do and doesn't eat up my resources. Cons: Nothing really special that will get me to switch from FireFox. Edit: I don't know what wbsites people are going to that won't display because that has never happened to me!
