Search not only your C: Drive for files relating to google chrome, click on My Computer > C: Drive > Program Files (Unless you see a 'Chrome' or 'Google Chrome' folder under the C: Drive) > Then click on 'Google' or on 'Google Chrome'. Delete the files that correspond, and the program will be deleted. After deleting a program from Add and remove programs, some programs install 'fluff' files. Files that are needed to run the program but are so unimportant that Add and Remove Files/Programs doesnt pick up on them because of their insignificance.

Download CCleaner (from http://ccleaner.com) and run a computer scan within it and then delete all the junk it finds out.

i don't know what they are talking about ccleaner is a traces eraser it wont delete left over files on a hard drive the only way to completely remove all the files is to go directly into the hard drive and go file by file until you find them all and remove them my computer> c drive> program files or you can get a program like system mechanic were its job is to go into the hard drive and find missing links or incorrect hard drive files and it will find them for you and then delete them but you always run the risk of it missing some good luck

Go and Delete the program from the Programs Section of the Start Menu.

First, restart your PC and then check if those files have Google Chrome Icon on them. I am afraid Chrome must have been your default browser. So, some extensions must be associated with Chrome. So, check if only one (or a few) particular type(s) of files have Chrome's icon with them. If that is the case, open My Computer>Tools Menu>Folder Options. From this dialogue box, Select "File Types". You can change the programs associated with any file types from these options.
