The same thing happened to me. I have contacted my provider and they ensured me that there is nothing wrong with my speed. I even had them come out and they found nothing wrong. If AT&T u verese if available in your area, consider that. They have an option to your wireless and I know four people to swear by it. I plan to get it in the fall.

Wow....Your is Faster than mine. Well lets see here...Did you test this side to side? Try using a connection straight from your modem then compare the speed with a WIRELESS connection and then make the correct assumption. Use this website to test your speed! http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/

Oh this happened to me once, its because someone was using my wireless internet and when they do that they steal your bandwidth thus making your internet slower hope it helped

Also make sure it's a password protected network, otherwise all your neighbors are enjoying your internet and that of course significantly lowers your bandwidth. If it is password protected, change the password and see what happens. (people might have figured out your password)

Its because wireless isnt as reliable, nice, but not reliable. If you are running a wireless b network you should upgrad to a g or n network as g and n networks are more resistent to outside disturbances and reach farther. Depending on the factors of how far you are, what adapter youre using, etc it may or may not be abnormal for youre signal to be so junky all of a sudden.

Did you set a password on your network? If not, somebody could be leeching off of your internet and using up a considerable amount of bandwidth. That, or you could break down your walls and check your wires from your cable box for tears, chew marks, etc. If you can't find the reason and aren't doing anything illegal with your internet, then you should definitely contact your provider. Head over to http://speedtest.net/ and it'll tell you what your Internet Service Provider's average speeds are in comparison to your own. Best of luck. =)

Make sure that your wireless router is WPA or WPA2 encrypted with a strong password. Open routers are accessible by everyone. Someone might be using your internet and your IP address to download things! If you use WEP encryption, switch to WPA or WPA2. WEP can actually be cracked in less than 10 minutes with a laptop! Normally, the router control panel is located at http://192.168.1.1. In some rare occasions, it might be located at http://192.168.0.1. If your router asks you for a password, try entering "admin" as username, and "admin" as password, or "admin" as username and "password" as password. If you receive access denied issues, then look in the manual of your router to obtain the default password.

I experienced the same thing. From my experience its not what you've done wrong. I think at this stage hard wired internet adsl is still better then wireless.

What type of WAP are you using? There were some issues with certain vendors that you need to change the MTU size.
