Okay, here's the real, legit, painful way to get Twitter followers. Follow lots of other people. It'd help if you changed your username and Twitter name to something like Follow Back, etc. You can change it back later. However, don't follow pages that SAY they will follow back, but have 100,000 followers and are following 10,000, etc. Sort of like that FollowBackFox bit :D Good luck!

Tweet interesting stuff. Retweeting also helps.Follow more poeple, usually many follow back. Promote it on facebook,blogs etc. If that too doesn't help there are services like http://letusfollow.com where you can get more followers and that too for free. There is referral bonus too.
