Well, for me, this has never happened. One thing is for sure, that you shouldnt stay too long. It is never too good.

try to get some rest every hour for 10 min. away from ur comp & u will be fine

Also try and set your screen refresh rate as high as possible. I sit in front of my pc 18/24 a day and about 35cm away from the screen and no headaches. Room light also affect your screen's display.

Not now. I lowered the brightness of the monitor and added a light to enable me to see my keyboard better. Also, I made sure that there was some light in the room. I hope this helps. Victor

Not really. You should remember to blink regularly. Breathing well is important too, because it will supply your eyes with sufficient oxygen.

Especially if you use one of the old monitors, yes. I am pretty geeky and spend up to 16 hours a day in front of the computer with TFT or LCD monitor. I can't handle a single hour in front of a CTR-monitor. Another issue is sound which does give some people a headache. Ps.: Drinking is easily forgotten when using computers, at least I feel so. Drinking regularly and relaxing the eyes for a while when using the computer will make you endure much longer periods.
