I want to get into Drift Racing?

Ok, Drift Racing shouldn't be classified as "racing" but thats another topic. basically any RWD car which is fairly light, and easy to work on. Many people choose nissan 240sx's. You dont need all the power in the world to drift. I think you may have the wrong idea. It takes a driver with good reflex, feel for balance, a good understanding of car dynamics (like how brakes and clutches work and such). You also NEED money to do this. Those little inline 4's and Inline 6 engines need rebuilds (not cheap), and your drivetrain gets alot of stress. Steering system needs to be modified for larger angles. Maybe you should check out Autocross events to learn to handle a car at its limit. But if you were building the ultimate drift car. I think a modern fuel injected v8, like an ls2 or ls7 would be great, gobs of torque, less maintanance, more power with less modifications. maybe a chassis like something with "truck arm" rear suspension with a good strong rear end, like a ford 9", on the front macpherson struts are good. the goal would be as close to 50/50 weight distribution. a good solid transmission w/ synchronisers(if standard) and oil coolers (if auto). and alot of fans for cooling

Drifting is not racing.Drifters are not racers.

It takes some skill to do that. Of course you have to be knowledgeable about skid and friction. Don't try it without being trained.

If you want to be different, get an old Mazda RX-3. You can get 600+ hp out of the Wankel. Put a roll bar and a 5 point harness in it.
