    Don't know how you're funded, but here's my suggestion. NASCAR teams look everywhere for talent, but there are two venues that are known to be dependable in "revealing" extraordinary driver talent. USAC midgets and sprint cars are loose, overpowered, and hard to drive. Just look at the names that made it to NASCAR from the open wheel ranks. However, that takes a lot of money. There is a way to be noticed with less investment. Legends car racing has produced both Kurt and Kyle Busch, Reed Sorenson, David Ragan, and Joey Logano. It's a long shot, but I'd suggest you get a Legends car, get some seat time, and when you're really good, travel to Lowes Motor Speedway to be seen in a nationally televised event. Every NASCAR team has some connection, through an employee or otherwise, with Legends car racing. If you are good, people will talk. Again; even that is a very long shot.

Go to dirt track racing and work your way up to Super Late Models and someone will be willing to put you through NTI if you are good enough.

I think you need to knock on lots of doors and talk to lots of people and teams that are currently racing. and a degree in mechanical engineering woudn't hurt, I think you are going to have to prove your desire and skills to teams that are already out there.

keep up with the carting if your good enough u should get spotted i went straight from Jwrc to wrc rally driving but that was only for a privateer friend of mine

I am 13 and I am a Cadet Kart Racer at CityKart, Paranaque, Philippines. I placed top 1 in the junior cadet racers and there's only one way you can easily get yourself a career at car racing. Keep practicing. Eventually, you will gain enough confidence, and you should move on to faster vehicles. If there are any racing competitions at your local race track that you qualify in, TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY. You WILL get discovered and eventually, you will gain yourself good rep, which is what will bring you to success. I've always dreamed of racing in the NASCAR especially in the Daytona 500, but that would take a while. Hope that helped!
