Maclaren F1 vs Ferrari F50 GT. Which of these super race cars would win in a 250 mile 5 lap oval race?

Answer:
The end result would most likely depend on whatever specific rules were set for the race. For example, who would be driving each car? Would they be limited to the rubber choice that came from the factory? What about gearing - would this also be set as it was from the factory or would they be allowed to change gearing? Along with the required safety changes, would there be allowed any other changes to the chasis? Would there be fuel limits? And so forth... In the end, it would come down to which ever car had the higher top speed. 250 miles is probably not enough that either would be out of range of a full fuel load, and an oval that is 25 miles around would not have any corner sharp enough to require braking... even if street rubber were required. I beleive the Maclaren had a higher maximum speed... but this would not really be much of a race which ever two cars you decided to bring.

I don't know about a 250 mile, 5 lap at 50 miles per lap race. But if the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans is any indication, the McLaren GTR F1 would Win without any problems.

A 250-mile, 5-lap oval race! If my math is correct, that's 50 miles per lap. That would be some oval and I really don't know where you would find such a beast as few, if any ovals are more than 2.5 miles in length.. Neither car is built to race on oval tracks and, because there is no run-off area on an oval (that's the primary reason you don't see `wet races' on ovals) I fear either of both would quickly end up in the wall unless serious modifications were done to the cars. It would be sheer conjecture to speculate on which car would be faster IF they ever raced on a `conventional' oval track.

Five 25 mile laps, or five 250 mile laps? At this distance the question resides more in tire choice, driver skill, and fuel strategy. The McLaren would most likely win by a small margin but I give the looks to the Ferrari.

Maclaren F1 would win , but with difference under 6 seconds.

I think Mclaren should win the race.
