What happened during the beginning of Hanukkah?

Please would someone tell me what happened at the beginning of the Indianapolis F1 yesterday?

As they went thru turn 1, they were four across. Raikkonnen slowed to avoid Button and Montoya hit Kimi who spun. Heidfeld hit wheels as the cars all shunted over to the right and did 4 barrel rolls into the gravel (he's OK). Seven cars went out and it really became a two car race...both Ferraris!!!

Well the cars. They started up. and then they went, they kept making left turns....and this went on for a few hours.
