Are there any Europeans who like NASCAR?

Technically dont u think F1 shuld be more popular than NASCAR in the states?

  • cuz NASCAR just drives around circles, i don't kno wuts the fun in that but F1 lotsa technical turns and defence if we mock Europeans for loving soccer (getting only 2 ...show more

  • Answer:

The reason is Nascar started in the States first, sometimes whoever gets their feet in first owns the show. Also Nascar is a purely American "sport" while the rest of the international community likes F1, an another example of this is american football.

The fun in NASCAR is that cars actually pass eachother on the track all the time. Whereas in F1 most passing is done in the pits. Granted, this goes on in NASCAR as well, but that's a function of pit strategy. You'd rather get a clean (or sometimes not so clean) pass on the track. And the cars touch eachother without disintegrating (that's why fenders are so cool, ya know?). They bump, rub, move eachother out of the way. Also, while you can't go into a dealership and buy a Cup car, it's still a car...not a four-wheeled overgrown go-kart racing contraption that generates enough downforce to drive upside down. You punkass F1 fans constantly talk down on NASCAR because a lot of the tracks are ovals. It's a different style of racing that has its own challenges and skill sets. Deal with it.

No it shouldn't. Technology doesn't make entertainment. Good racing does. We could mock F1 for the 2 passes a race.

F1 is a world championship and driven all over the world, Nascar is just a regional American series. F1 is and always will be the big leagues in motorsports. Also, Nascar announcers sound like they are from that cheesy show Hee Haw

americans love things made in america, no matter how stupid or boring it is. that is why americans can't love F1. they won't cheer for drivers they can't even pronounce the names right, or who come from cities they never heard of (yes, even if its the capital city or the biggest city of another country, they've never heard of it. a lot of americans don't even know where Canada is or where its cities are. i live in Vancouver and my friends in California keep thinking i'm 3 hours ahead on the east coast)

The fun is in the fact that NASCAR is racing, F1 is formation driving. If I want to watch high tech vehicles going in formation at high speeds, I'll go to an airshow and watch military aircraft. I tried to watch the Austrailian GP what a bore fest, aside from Rakkonin passing 8 cars on the start, and a wreck what was the point? Hamilton was going to win anyway since he had the pole. What fun is it when the only reason a pass was made is because Ferrari #2 is ordered to pull over for Ferrari #1, compare this to Jeff Gordon beating and banging on Jimmie Johnson to try to get around him(not only is Jeff, Jimmie's teammate, he's also the car owner). Oh and BTW, F1 technically does go in circles, it just makes a few more turns to do it. If you start and end at the same point it's going around in circles. Umm Anne did you learn anything about simple physics, if you take any turn at speed, say about 180mph you're going to pull g's, in fact I heard somewhere that NASCAR drivers get hit with 800 lbs of force every turn, so don't pull that one on me. Now choy basing you opinion on Americans on anyone on the west coast let alone California is not a good way to do things. Yes I know where the cities in Canada are, hell I've even been to Vancouver. And yes I know Vancouver WA is nowhere near Vancouver,BC. Ok, F1 snobs, let's get some facts straight here, Eccelstone is not interested in the US. If F1 drivers are superior to NASCAR drivers, how come Villeneuve lasted one race in the big series, and Montoya's barely above a field filler. And I don't want to hear they were'nt all that good in F1 either. Look I'm still getting over building a go-kart(let's face it I've yet seen a street car that weighed 1300lbs) for $20 million just to drive in a line on a track.

It's fun to see your own country men winning! What better way to do it than to have your own league that attracts a few under achieving drivers from around the world. Facts: F1 is technically far more superior than NASCAR, drivers need far better skills than one dimensional NASCAR drivers. Much more options to use strategy in the races to get a better result... All in all F1 offers much more that NASCAR!

Whats so technical about turning right? Turning is overrated anyway. And by the way they don't go in circles. Go watch a race then post again in English next time.. Go Mclaren...

Technically, of course. Based on racing, the machines, the skills, and the drivers. BUT that doesn't equal success. NASCAR thrives on personality and feuds. Every week there's a tabloid story going. The feuds and crashes get the attention week in and week out. Hopefully, casual racing fans will tune in and discover F1, although it is a tough sell since it's not in the states more than once a year.
