Did McLaren Cheat and did their drivers benefit from the information?

Who thinks that both Mclaren drivers should have lost drivers points?

  • If Mclaren have been proven to benefit from Ferrari and the FIA took away all Mclaren constructors points do you think the drivers points should also be removed? After all, would the ...show more

  • Answer:

I think that there is sufficient evidence to suggest that Alonso had information that he must have known was dodgy. If you read the FIA released e-mails between him and De La Rosa - I think that he knew he should have mentioned having this information. So, perhaps there is an argument to say he should have been penalised. No such evidence about Hamliton though, so why remove his points

What a silly statement! The drivers and team Maclaren have all stated that nothing of Ferrari was used by Maclaren. If you hadn't yet noticed, the Ferraris have been unreliable this season, and the Maclaren is a far better overall package out on the race track. The prancing horse is finally stumbling since Ross Braun left for a sabbatical, so the Italians just don't have the same quality of engineers at the moment. As for suspension dampers breaking over a bump, what more proof do people need that the glory days are over?

Alonso should have been thrown out over the emails. Hamilton did nothing wrong.

As far as I am aware Lewis Hamilton had no part in this fiasco. Apparently it seems that Fernando Alonso had access to the data, So I would get your point if you wanted Alonso docked his points but why are you advocating that Hamilton should be penalised for something he apparently knew nothing about.

Only Fernando Alonso

definitely - theyve been driving a car made by cheating. they might not have done as well without the car.

I don't agree with penalizing the drivers. especially if they had no knowledge. Alonso, on the other hand, is a different story. Pay a fine or something, but leave the driver points alone. Getting information is one thing, but making it work for you is another. Alonso can drive, but I seriously doubt he's a mechanic or an engineer. I'd have a better clue if I could read those e-mails.

no ways a driver work is done on the track not in a boardroom

everybody knows that the drivers championship is the most important. It's not right that alonso or hamilton can win by chaeting. tha'ts true, hamilton is innocent actually ,but he drives a car that is built over the ferrari data and he gets advantage thanks to the infomations that others gave to him. would hamilton have won the championship without ferrari data?who can say, but he got advantage that's sure. it's not regular in every sport when someone get an advantage. IF hamilton is innocent,he can demand a compensation for damages to mc laren.

No! The drivers were told that if they revealed what they knew, they would be granted amnesty for their actions! They did what they were told and that's that!
