  The standard format of a backup file of an email is eml. Yahoo does not provide a way to save in that format. The only direct way is to save the webpage or copy and paste the text. Standalone email programs such as Thunderbird can save them. You must therefore get the mail to first download to that program. These instructions will allow you to backup or transfer email between accounts. It will only work if the email services support IMAP. Yahoo email does. I do not recommend POP3 since you will not get old mail or mail in folders. IMAP will map the folders to your email client. 1. Install an email client such as Thunderbird. 2. Add the account you want to backup or transfer to the client as IMAP. imap.mail.yahoo.com SSL Port 993 3. If you are doing a transfer add the second account as IMAP. 4. If you want to create eml files then you must use the save option of the email program. 5. If you want to do a transfer then just move email between folders. An alternate way to save email is by using a PDF printer. There are many free ones available. Once installed it looks like a printer to the system but the output goes to a PDF. You would still have to print the emails one at a time. 😻
