  • Answer:

That depends on a lot of factors: what type of snow do you ride in groomed or powder, do you want speed for half pipe tricks? It sounds like to me, the best board for you is a used board. you're level of riding doesn't so much depend on the board as it does on you for now. Get one without any visible edge peeling/seperation of the laminate, make sure it's chin to nose high on you. Before you purchase bindings practice opening/closing them while wearing gloves. This saves you from embarrassment or freezing cold fingers at the top of the slope. If you're wondering whether or not to get a hat, I'm assuming you don't ride in powder b/c if it's cold enough for deep powder, you'd also know that of course you need a hat/beanie. Personally I wear a helmet with a thin hat inside/under it. My helmet is a winter sports helmet that has and open/closeable vent at the top. even in spring weather I wear a helmet. Being knocked unconscious after a bad landing is a good motivator to wear one. And you can get non dorky looking helmets. they are much more commonly used with snowboarding than street skating.
