  Fastest and easiest is to just rub it on the base. A better way and longer lasting would be to paint it on the base, melt some wax in a can in boiling water. When the wax is melted, use a clean paint brush and apply to the base. Scrape the excess off and clean the edges. The best way is to go to a second hand store and buy an old electric iron that works. Apply the wax to the base of the iron, then iron the film over the base. Do the base fast so the base gets warm but not hot. The wax should melt easily without smoking. Use this iron only for waxing. I wax my equipment every 3 days of use, in the spring 2 days. Plain canning wax works for most sliding, the real expensive stuff is fine for racing, but I don't race any more.
