What is the difference between a down jacket and a fleece lined jacket?

  • I need a bit of informnatin about both, I will be taking it to kilimanjaro and need something to go over base layers and a big wool fleece.

down is another word for feathers, fleece is another name for man-made fibres. The fleece option will be lighter and better at keeping you warm, it will dry quickly and will generally be a better option.
