Am I too old to start snowboarding?

Should my 11 year old start snowboarding?

  • My son is an excellent skier,and has been for 5 years.He is going to the mountains with a friend without me.Should he start snowboarding,if he shouldn't,when should he?

    well if he doesn't know how to snowboard yet, then he should definitely get lessons first before heading to the mountain. skiing and snowboarding are two completely different things... so having a 5 year experience of skiing wont really affect how you would do on a snowboard. hope this helps :)

Yes a good age to start, i have seen little 2 feet tall kids snowboard haha. My brother is 11 to, and he just started he NEeded a few lessons however, but he's pretty good now.

I have been skiing since i was 3 then i started snowboarding when i was 11 make sure he gets lessons first and I remember how different it was for me when I started. it should take about 2 or 3 lessons till hes good enough to go on a lift on his own then from there it will just take practice. also WEAR A HELMET I know it doesen't seem like that big of a deal but it actaully if very importand and I probably would of had 3 concussions if I didn't from all of my fails
