What would work for the top of a snowboard box?

Snowboard box rail top sheet?

  • I am going to be building a snowboard box rail and can't afford HDPE. What are some cheaper alternatives that work? Thanks

First of all you don't need any top sheet just plywood will work plus it will help you learn not to lean at all when you land on a rail. But i had this same problem when making my backyard setup. I just went to my local junkyard and picked up an old truck bed for like 15$. All you have to do is cut it to length and then screw it into your boxes and its extremely durable. Or you can just go to Home Depot or Lowe's and just look around there's tons of stuff but i found the truck bed to be the cheapest and probably the most durable.

ive tried plenty of alternatives but best by far is to go to home depot and get a laminate counter top. you can get like a 10 foot counter top for like 25 bucks and it slides great. i just popped a line and cut the backslash off. ive hit it with friends several times and it holds up great just make sure you brace it good with some 2x4's or somthing.im like 170 pounds n my buddy is 6'3 220 and we both can hit it all day 270s on and everything and it holds up perfect and slides perfect :) best bang for your buck in my opinion
