    You should get a board that is flexible if you are buying. I would rent though for at least a few trips.

it might be a good idea to rent.. they usually have mad goods deals, my cousin rents all the time and its good stuff. that way u can see if u like that board and next year you can get a new one

I would go with a used one if you are starting to make sure you like it. Ski Swaps are starting. Thats a good place to look. Also the board you get is dependent on what kind of riding you are planning on doing. I personally ride park so i have a Rome SDS cheaptrick. But when i was learning i had a Artec Gabe Taylor. I would suggest an all mountain board for learning so you can learn everything you need to on there.
