  actually Burton is just a name brand and peoples preference or anti-preference towards them is on personal opinion via experience...personally I've been boarding since the early 90's and have seen Burton go from a reputable yet expensive company with high quality gear, to a company that has seen it fit to jack up their prices for diminished quality knowing people will buy them solely on experience and name brand. That is why some people hate on them...personal experience. That aside, if you like the boots, get them. Personally, once again in my experience have discovered Vans, and 32's to be the best and most comfortable brands. Too bad Airwalk doesn't make good boots as much anymore..I used to like them a lot.
