Dont buy a board yet. The first time you go snowboarding, rent it and get lessons there. There is usually a beginners package that includes lift ticket, rental, and lessons. Then if you like it, buy one.

Um. . if I was you, I wouldn't get the snowboard, I'd get something better like a PS3 or something, you said it yourself, there is no where to snowboard
