What is the difference between curved & straight snowboards?

What's the difference between freestyle and freeride snowboards?

  • im about to get my first snowboard and i want to know what kind to get because i know that they are different lengths. the thing is i don't really like goofy or regular that much, ...show more

  • Answer:

freestyle snowboards tend to be softer and have more pop than freeride boards making ground tricks easier - butters, presses and the like. the downside is that a softer board will tend to chatter more at high speed which is why all-mountain/freeride boards tend to be stiffer. freestyle boards are often lighter and tend to be ridden in shorter sizes than a freeride board (e.g. a rider who has a 160 freeride board may use a 155 freestyle board). if you are constantly switching between regular and goofy a twin may be the best option for you. examples of twin boards are the burton twin, ride dh and rome artifact. alasdair

It depends on how tall you are, how much you weigh, and what type of riding you're doing. If you like to ride regular and goofy, go with a twin tip board. I'm not the most experienced, but I've done tons of research and tried a few things out. Hope I helped

first off, if you like to switch which way you ride, get a burton twin...its called the twin because each end (tail and nose) is the exact same so you ge tthe same ride each way...freeride would be the board for you because it will give you more control...if you dont want a burton try and find a board that has twin ends because that way either way you ride you will have the same amount of control.
