Snowboarding question??

First time snowboarding? *Very Easy Question*?

  • I'm going snowboarding tomorrow for a school field trip. I have never done snowboarding before. So, my questions are: Any tips? Anything important to bring? Do you fall ...show more

  • Answer:

dont worry about those sizes the rental people will hook you up. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by that, as the rentals at my mountain are different, but i do know that they will take care of you. TIPS: remember to keep your knees bent, back straight, shoulders OVER your feet. Don't turn those to look in the direction your moving... only turn your head. Always turn your head to look where your going. Remember that all your turns are gonna originate with your front foot going on your toes or heels. Try to avoid swinging your back foot around to make your turns. Most of all, have lots of fun, im sure you will. :)

haha snowboarding is fun Tips - Expect to fall a lot on your first day. The first time i ever went, I practically fell everytime. But then again, all i did was speed down the hill. It really takes time to get to learn how to snowboard. The best way to learn is to go..a lot. The only way to get better is with experience. Make sure you have warm clothes that are waterproof, or else you'll get soaked and be miserable. Just make sure you don't do anything that's out of you're skill range, something bad might happen. I broke my elbow a few weeks ago going off a jump that was too big for me lol make sure that doesn't happen to you.

Any tips? Don't give up, no matter how angry you get. Try to avoid catching an edge. Anything important to bring? I always bring water for the car. A lot of people have backpacks, but I don't carry that much on me. However, I'm very thirsty by the end of the day. Clothes that keep you warm, especially if it's going to be snowing tomorrow! Do you fall often? You WILL fall. A lot. And it WILL be frustrating. And you will be sore the night and probably next day. Don't stop trying! Any helpful things to remember? Whip your back foot around fast! As for the most important question, I'm not sure what you mean by "size 7" snowboard. Usually boards come in 3-digit sizes - their length in cm (146, 148, 152, etc). It could be a way of your rental place organizing boards. Although the workers know what they're doing usually, so it should be fine. Good luck and have fun!
