  Focus more on the boots, the boots will make or break your day on the mountain. go to a good respective snowboard shop and try on every boot till you find the one that fits your feet the best. don't go to big on the boot or you'll regret it, heel slip sucks. when you find the right boot then you can focus on the bindings. you don't need brand new bindings you can get good deals on last years models. I picked up a brand new pair of last years Rome 390 which is an amazing binding for less than a hundred dollars. just make sure to check the sizing guide when you buy bindings so you know they'll be a good fit with your boot. most bindings will do well with any boot from my experience. I like to stick with Rome, Union, and Flux for bindings but that's my personal preference, I think their quality is top notch and no you don't need to go over $200 for bindings if you know how to find the right deals. search the internet. there's ebay, geartrade, trusnow, and tons of snowboard related deal of the day sites (dodtracker) that will offer great bindings at great prices
