How do I find the best board and equipment for beginner snowboarding?

    anything from reputable brands will hold up fine (since you dont sound like your ride that much). Also make sure you get the right size stuff. (look at manufacture recommended sizes)

if you need any gear such as clothing, helmets (wear a helmet, people die all the time snowboarding/ skiing and it can save you from plenty of concussions and bad falls) goggles, socks ect. go to http://www.the-house.com/ -they have a huge sale on all snowboarding/ skiing stuff at the end of the season (around april-may) As far as boards, go to http://www.evo.com/how-to-choose-a-snowboard-size-chart-and-buying-guide.aspx find exactly what you want in a board. I'd recommend a taller board, thats all mountain and with a V-rocker or Rocker/Camber/Rocker with medium flex. as far as boots and bindings. Boots- cheap and whatever feels comfortable (boots honestly dont matter all that much) bindings- Union makes some amazing and cheap bindings, or burton Freestyle bindings are nice and will last you
