Are snowboarding jacket special jacket?

    aye snowboarding jackets ar especially, they are loosely like not fit and tight, and they have a warmer part on bottom so if u sit on it,,,, it wont get cold easily, they are all water proof, ehm, they have especial thing on waistst so if u fall or sit, snow wont go under yer coat, ,a zip pr some thing like it, and yes skiing jacket will rip or may get damage if u fall , or sit a lot, they are fit and made for skiiers not snowboarders

The jacket will be fine for snowboarding, its just not a name brand. Snowboarding jackets usually only have a greater range of motion than normal jackets.

shouldnt rip unless you fall on abrasive ice, but i dont know if the material is cheap or what, snowboard jackets do have strong material a lot of times, but unless your doing hardcore high speed boarding you shouldnt have a problem, actually unless you fall on abrasive ice alot you shouldnt have problem even with a normal jacket, unless is it real thin material, ive seen snowboard jackets at TJ maxx

Snowboarding jackets aren't necessarily anything special. Usually they just have more range of motion in the shoulders and a little extra length in back (to keep snow from going up your back when you sit down). That said, good jackets are good jackets and bad jackets are bad jackets. Stick with a ski/board shop to get something that will hold up if you're going to ride a lot and want to stay dry/warm.
