When in the trees look ahead for a clear path. Try seeing at least 6 turns in front of you. Make sure you can do quick turns heelside and toeside. Try staying at a constant controlled speed. You need to be able to look directly in front of you and switch to further away quickly to keep your path.

you need to be good at going fast. not just for the race, but if the trees are tight you might not have much room to turn to slow down. also, know how to ollie somewhat high to get over logs and that stuff. rip it up!

You just want to avoided the big trees and not worry about the little sticks coming up from the ground. You also need to be used to being in tight spaces and can carve easily.
