Are Burton Bindings Compatible with a K2 Board?

Burton vs K2?

  • I'm buying a new board and have it narrowed down between the Burton Royale 162 and the K2 podium 159. I'm 6'2", 190 lbs, size 11 with Burton Triad Lounge bindings. ...show more

  • Answer:

K2 is the way to go. I have a K2 board and love it and I go all over the mountain with it. It works great just cruising, going down moguls, and in terrain parks. I've also had this board a while and it's held up great. You should go with the K2 board for sure.

I've never riden this particular model, but personally I love K2 / Ride (same company) boards - I have owned several and they are really great boards. I think Burton is overrated as a company in general and I really hate the 3 hole mounting system they use on their boards - do your bindings have 3 hole (for a Burton board) AND 4 hole (square for all other boards)? This might force you to get one or the other. I also prefer the shorter board for All-Mountain riding, but I do pay the price on the powder days - my latest board is a "wide" (I also wear a size 11 1/2) and I really love it. It is still short for tricks and spins but the extra width gives more float in the powder. Good Luck

Ok heres the deall some people claim by the nose to chin variable on sizes but your an inermediate soo you dont need this.. if your looking for cheap but still nice K2 is a good board but look into roam, atomic, neversummer boards there just as good as burton.. if not better.. and for alot less.. if you want an all around board I have an atomic hatchet 159.. its perfect because I go to school in Bellingham washington and ride mt.baker pow.. then go home to portland oregon and go ride in the timberline park.. its def a happy medium.... just keep in mind if your a pow free ride guy a bigger board will help you shred some deep stuff... because your weight per square inch is less with a bigger board more room for distribution.. kinda like a snow shoe.. only disadantage is turning is harder the thing with a shorter board is unlike the big powder boards they turn alot quicker and there like a noodle.. thus better for park.. most guys your size would ride a 155 cm board in park then ride a 165 in pow soo def.. give those other board companies a shot.. there just as good.. and keep in mind the sizes 155 for park (all time) 157-159 (park or free ride) 160-165 for big mt.. (all time) hope this helps Peace Big K
