Where is the best place to snowboard near Tahoe,Ca?

    There is only one good answer to this question. Donner Ski Ranch. They have rentals, lift ticket and lesson combos for 70 bucks which is the best deal in town. When you start out, dont go to big resorts cause you are paying for 1000 acres of terrain which you cannot ride. your first 3-4 days should be a tiny cheap place where you can learn to carve and then go to the big resorts.

I'd say Sierra, because the prices aren't that bad, and theres a wide variety of trails for beginners. Otherwise, I'd say Squaw Valley or Heavenly

Have never snowboarded, but have skied. Mt. Rose is a good place for both. It's above the western shore of Lake Tahoe.

Heavenly and Northstar. Heavenly is the biggest resort in Tahoe and Northstar has a sick park. This guy below me says im wrong about that because he worked up there for 3 years. Well buddy, its sad that you worked there for three years and still couldnt get it right. Heres the proof.. Heavenly has 800 acres more than Squaw! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Tahoe
