How to make snowboard wax?

How do you make your own snowboard wax?

  • I have herd of people making there own rub on wax, does anyone know how its done, what ingrediants would I need?

  • Answer:

Here's the link you need for a good DIY board wax. but if you price it out, you really are better off buying commercial, but here it is anyway: http://www.ehow.com/how_12084950_make-snowboarding-wax.html I have also seen someone make board wax with candles 4 votives cut in quarters, 2-4 crayons broken into half-inch pieces (for color), 1 tbsp of canola oil and 1tbsp of butter. Nuke this, let it cool, and you're done. I don't think I would ever try this on my equipment, but if you have a trashed beater and want to try it, more power to ya. Cheers!

I don't believe that making your own snowboarding wax is useful or cheaper than purchasing already formulated wax. Call or go to your local snowboarding specialist store and ask what is in the wax, then go online and compare prices. There are also spray on waxes that you can use, perhaps you have a similar household product. But, once again, you will have to do research on what is in it. Overall, it will be cheaper in money and time, to just purchase already formulated wax.

whats the point the ingredients themselves probably cost more than $5 so you might as well just go buy some from a store.
