What are some good snowboarding tricks?

What new tricks can i learn snowboarding?

  • i can already do a grab between my feet and a 180 what else can i learn

  • Answer:

well, you can try a 360, but for grabs there are millions!!! anywhere you grab your board with any hand is a grab, you should probably try a method or a melon... method is when you lift up your legs from behind like your trying to kick your butt, then you grab the heelside of your snowboard between your bindings with your left hand. and melon is the same thing except you don't lift back your legs, your just keep your front one strait and suck your legs toward your body, and grab in the same spot with the same hand. you can look up snowboarding grabs and you're sure to find lots of them!

Okay, first off you can progress with your grabs, here are some simple ones: Mute: Front hand grabs between the bindings Indy: Back hand grabs between the bindings Method: Front hand grabs back of board Stalefish: Back hand grabs back of board Nose grab: (a little harder needs more air) Grabbing nose of board with front hand Tail grab: (a little harder needs more air) Grabbing tail of board with back hand Also, once you have a grab down, try holding it longer of bigger jumps. As for spins: 180: half turn 360: full turn 540: 1 and a half turns Also, you can try hitting some rails if you want. Always start by trying a small ride-on box. (A thick rail that you just ride onto instead of jumping onto) 50/50: Just going straight on it Backside boardslide: turning your board so it faces downhill while on the rail. Frontside boardslide: turning your board so it faces uphill while on the rail. You can add a bit of style by turning into switch while jumping off (the opposite way you usually ride) the rail. This adds "to fakie" at the end of the trick name. Look up some how-to videos on youtube, they realy help! Good luck!

watch videos and get a feel for trick possibilities. From there just stick with what feels comfortable, slowly build up your skill and confidence and work towards bigger and better tricks. For a beginner looking to learn some tricks, I'd recommend watching some flatland videos for some small tricks on the ground, these give you a good idea of how the board feels and how you can maneuver it. The site I look at for videos is called http://superstoker.com

Honestly the next step you should take is learning some ground tricks to help you learn a little more control for bigger tricks. Try: Nollie to Tail Press, Jump leading with your back foot and then when you land keep your nose in the air for some time. Tail Press BS180, Lean back on your tail and let your back foot kick out behind you. ETC.. For small kicker tricks try: Nose Grab, make sure after you grab the nose to strighten your back leg. Shifty, while bringing your legs up while your in the air swing your back leg forward 90 degrees (to start) and then back again. You'll progress further from there and ideas will start poppin in your head, just run with them. Good Luck!
