What kind of snowboard bindings should I get?

What kind of snowboard should i get?

  • I am about 6 foot 2 inches tall and only weigh about 155, and i was wondering what kind of snowboard i should get like brand, length, and bindings, and also the width the bindings ...show more

  • Answer:

For binding width, it depends on what you like, if your a parker then you would want to widen the stance for the dealo on buttering and boardsliding. If not, don't "exagerate" the width, could feel funny . . .

I would recommend anything but burton. There is so much crazy technology in boards. I would say look into the materials made in different boards like for instance. What kind of wood core the boards have, If the side-wall is ABS or urethane, the type of base (sintered or extruded), the side cut your looking for, the flex your looking for. Ride snowboards have some awesome new technology like urethane sidewalls called "slimewalls" which dampens vibrations for a smoother ride, and also makes the edge a little bit more durable than a standard ABS sidewall because instead of fighting against impact, it absorbs most of the energy. Also in the Ride society the have a urethan top sheet that once again helps dampen vibration and is super light. Also look for things like carbon. Ride has strands of carbon in the tip and tail of the board to make it a little more poppy (gives the rider a good response) . Then there is technology like salomon special where they mill out the wood in the center of the board so it turns alot easier. Simple cool technology like that is great to look for in a board. I recommend you do some research. Look up companies like Salomon, Ride, and Option (a canadian brand!) Keep your options open. Burton is not the only snowboard company. They are one of the most mass produced snowboards...which equals quality decreasing.

well it kinda depends on what YOUR STYLE is. if your all mountain then definently a "Burton Blunt" (300-500$ guessing) if your into more freestyle then probably an "Alibi" or a "forum" I just bought a good freestyle burton board called the "BurtoN Dominant" its pretty nice. hella flexable. thats the only thing with burton they are usually pretty stiff. I definently suggest a burton though. those things ride amazingly. it also sounds like you will probably have big feet. thats another reason to buy a burton. they have lots of awesome wide or midwide boards.

Meeeeee!

anything thats by burton!
