What size snowboard do I get?

  • I am very new at this and I really want to do snowboarding. How do I tell what size snowboard to get? And what kind of stuff do I need to snowboard?

well my brother snowboards. & to help him find a snowboard that was the right size the person at the store told him that the snowboard should be up to your nose in height. or a little taller since you'll grow.

I just have to say that if you listen to katie you will get a board that does not properly fit you. By her formula I would ride a 160 however the proper size for me is around a 155. Also note that she says you need to factor your height...the proves she has no damn idea what she is talking about. The most important factor on your snowboard is how much you weigh, height makes very little difference. If you want to know the snowboard you should get go to this site (http://www.frostyrider.com/tips/size-guide.htm) and fill out the information. They will tell you the best size board for you. For snowboarding you simply need cold weather gear. Since you are new you should also rent before you decide to buy.

the employee at the store will help you determine what size snowboard to get age and size are a factor. if you are younger, you will probably grow more and really shouldn't buy a snowboard DON'T buy a snowboard online, especially if it is your first one i guarantee you will buy all the wrong things
