    I'm an instructor. What u want as a beginer is a board that is between your nose and chin height wise. I'm 5 4" and I ride generally a 147. The shorter, the easier to handle. To lessen the cost and make it even easier, get a womens board. It doesn't have to b girly or anything, they are just thinner so it's easier to flex and bend. Try getting a board on craigslist but don't buy anything unless u see it. Bindings are a different story. If u have a real high quality boot, then u can downgrade on the bindings and vise versa.

You should look around for a board from last season. This will be cheap and you wont have to compromise quality for price. Lib tech (and Gnu) makes awesome park boards and they have banana tech and magne traction. Lib tech probably has the most technological advancements than any other snowboard company right now. Ride also makes good park boards that really hold up against rails. These definitely aren't the only companies, just the ones i am partial to.

luckily there is such a board. the stepchild hammer head is good for all terrain. but if you want to go with just a park board, the burton dom or the forum young bloods is good. and for pow, hit up the stepchild powder sucks.

well your not gonna get much that can ride on powder rails jumps and all mountain just for 300 with bindings. so either set a higher price range or it probably wont work if you do get a k2 board or a burton and if you want something cheaper get a 5150
