What type of Snowboard do I need?

I'm looking for a snowboard. What size/type/etc. do I need? I need the stats. Any fav. brand recommendations?

  • If any of this helps, I have a moderate skill level, I'm 5'8, I weigh about 140, and I prefer performance over speed. Also, I don't want a board that requires bindings. I ...show more

don't get those bindings trust me they always brake and are horrible. I'm not sure if they even make them anymore. anyway If i were you i would get a Burton board maybe a Burton blunt or Burton dominant. if you don't want to spend too much money look for Rome or ride boards they're very good and reliable.

All boards require bindings, you want step in bindings--This however limits your boot options. I'd recommend the K2 cinch ctl, cts, or ctx or Flow bindings..They're the best of both worlds. You can step into them or you can strap in..They are also easier to get into then regular step in bindings and provide more support..For your board, it depends on what you want to do-freeride or freestyle..Also if you get a burton board you must get burton bindings and Im not sure but dont think ive ever seen a burton step in binding...This is a good website---Dogfunk.com it tells you alot about the boards and bindings and you can ask for additional help from a live assistant

I'm new to snowboarding as well, so I can only (accurately, at least) answer part of your question. Burton makes great boards whether you're a beginner or have been boarding for ages, and on the site, they make it easy to choose your board based on what you want out of it. All boards need bindings, but you're just talking about step in bindings, as opposed to strap in. I hope what little information I could provide helps.

I think 130s are easiest to control.
