If the board is in great shape it's probably been waxed and doesn't need it right away, but I'd still wax it if there were any doubts. You can buy wax at any ride shop or ski shop. Many of the chain sporting goods stores sell it as well. Some skateboard shops do sell a small selection of snow accessories. You can use either ski wax or snowboard wax. You will also need a wax iron and waxing/tuning tools. The kit will cost about $50, but will save you money in the long run. When you get to the mountain you can have it waxed and tuned there for about $15-20. basically any place that sells snowboards sells wax- i recommend letting the people at the store checking out your board, it may need a tuneup. actually, it most likely needs a tuneup. let the people at the store check it out. if you get a tuneup, then you'll get a waxing, edge sharpening, and all that good stuff. i highly recommend this especially if it's a used board. good luck with your board, and see you on the slopes!
