What snowboard size should I get?

mostly mountain? go with more length, it gives you more speed, and it wont take to long to lean to control it. More length = more speed/less control (good for mountain/powder) Less length = more control/less speed (good for park stuff, like jumps, rails etc.) Even tho you are a beginner go for the lenght Now average size is just below bottom lip to nose. Go around your nose. I dont know what size that is for your hight, go into a store and find out

well i like the choice of board but the bindings not so much try p1 if anything go with p1s. cartels are nice but if you want the really nice ones then wait till next year Burton's coming out with new cartels called the purps and there sick man and for boots i don't really know but i like hails and motos

I am the same height and size as you. I started out with a 153 and my second board was a 156 which I bought after a year.

Since you are new I would go with the 154 over the 156. Your right on the money about the size you should be getting though so that's good. The reason I think you will be better off with the smaller board is since you are new the smaller the board the easier it will be to control and that's what you want. Also smaller boards are good for the park and Im sure at some point in this boards life you will want to try the park out.
