In my opinion Burton makes the best boards and bindings. For boots, Celsuis or ThirtyTwo. I have a smith helmet and i love it. Check out the websites

If your looking for quality, I would say Burton. If your looking for a killer park board, I would go with RIDE. If your looking for downhill boarding, I would say Burton or K2.

There isn't really a "best" brand. A lot of brands have great products. I use a variety. I have Anon goggles, Burton pants and jacket, Vans boots, Burton bindings, and a Forum deck. I can recommend all of these products. As far as speed, handling, etc. it really depends on what type of board you buy, and how much money you are willing to spend. Some brands that I like are Gnu, Forum, Jeenyus, and Burton. A lot of ski resorts have product testing days, where you can try out a lot of different equipment at no charge. Good time to figure out what you like.
