Emphasis for beginners is on balance/strengthening the "wrist, elbow, shoulder" (for getting up and falling down), "neck and lower back" (injury protection), and "ankle, lower leg" (less leg muscle burn = more rides).

I think BitchBoards is coming out with a work-out for women to get ready in mid-November.... I think you have to be a member to get it though...

okay well it depends on what type of snowboarding your doing, if you ride the park then you need to be in a little better shape, but if your just snowboarding in general you don't need to be in to good of shape. I personally I get a back pack and put heavy stuff in it and walk up and down some stairs to strengthen your legs (you will feel it after going up them once) and then just do about ten curl ups for your abs only do this about 3 tyimes a week (max) because if you do it more it actually weakends your body! that's basically the main things that you could do to get in good shape for snowboarding, i hope this helped you :)

Ride a bike or at least a stationary bike. You really don't need a lot of strength, you need some endurance mainly. Good all around health is good too. Start eating healthy and do some cardio.
