  • Answer:

Yeah Rossignol boards are cheap decent snowboards for beginners, also Burton snowboards are a good choice. You can find alot of cheap burton boards online and in my town they're used to be a snowboard exchange were you could buy used snowboards or trade in skiis for snowboards. You might want to check if your town is having a snowboard exchange because some people also will just sell them to you for real cheap like under 100 dollars.

Personlly I would stay away from snowboards made by ski companies. Solomon, Rossignal, K2 are ski companies that started making snowboards when the sport caught on. Prior to that it was ski companies against true snowboard companies jocking for position in the market place. I would go w/ a snowboard company because they are true to one genre of the sport snowboarding. Think about it how many snowboard companies do you see making skis??? How much are you willing to spend? The prices can shoot up to the high hundreds. I suggest go here: http://store.atticskateshop.com/snowboar... Note that 5150 is a sister company of RIDE snowboards. This means you can generally get the same high quality deck as RIDE just on with 5150 graphixs. Not to mention with the prices you save here on your deck you may be able to purchase bindings and other stuff for the price of a deck alone anywhere esle. Something to consider. Hope this helps.

Go to www.sierrasnowboards.com they have the best deals out there. Every once in a while they even do 60% off. My friend just bought a $240 pair of bindings for $100 five days ago. As for what you found, if its a local shop go in and try on the boots, see how they fit. For the most part, a snowboard is a snowboard when you start out. You don't need a high end brand, you need a piece of wood and fiberglass with a slick bottom. Don't let someone try talking you into something fancy. Oh and lastly, if its a local shop you are going to, offer them a lower price then what is posted. Local shops are dying for business because of the current state of the economy. Take advantage of the great deals out there

Woooooo.... are you serious? rossignol has no affilation with lib-tech nor GNU. Lib-Tech and GNU are owned under Mervin manufacturing, which is owned under Quiksilver. Get your facts straight. but i'd go with lib or gnu for the banana traction, reverse camber and magne-traction are great additions to snowboarding.

GNU

Well if you really like it I would defiantly save up and get a good board. The Zena will gte you through your beginner and starting intermediate stages but once you get better the board wont hold up as well, especailly if you get into freestyle. Sorry to say but all those brands yuo said are like that. Some good boards would be Gnu, Neversummer, Burton, Ride, K2, and Rome would be some good brands. They will be more expensive but will pay off if you keep boarding.

Rossi is decent and the Zena board looks like a good board. Morrow on the other hand is not a great brand and I would definately look elsewhere for your boots :) @skimboarder Rossignol is the company that makes GNU and Lib-Tech... Get your facts straight before knocking a brand and then telling them to buy the same brand lol.

Wooooo

u should look for a cheap burton board. burton is good. why the thumbs down?
